Picturesque Apopka
There is a
road right near us that goes from the new Hospital they are building
(down the hill from my house) straight into the underbelly of Apopka.
By 'underbelly' I mean that area south of downtown that borders on a
traditionally rough area of town known as South Apopka. I have bee
taking pictures on my smart phone of that area block by block in the
mornings so that I can document and study what is there.
I have my daughter Michelle share the pictures to my facebook account, and then I download them onto my computer.
|
I figured out how to do the sharing, but I let her think that I don't know how.
|
That way she gets to help her dear old helpless Dad. And, why should I do all the work anyways?
|
I notice
after a few days of downloading photos that I was getting some truly
amazing pictures. Granted I was out at dawn or shortly thereafter and
was shooting in the morning light. However, I was struck by how
beautiful Apopka is and how many different places you can take
incredible photographs of it. I thought I'd share some of my photos
here so you can see how Picturesque the town really is.
Apopka has lakes. It has Springs. It has Rivers. It has Horse Farms. Plant Nurseries. Cattle farms, and even Wineries.
|
It has
lots of interesting old buildings tucked here and there. Part of it is
flat and places are downright hilly now and then.
|
You will find a hodge-podge of architecture representing every era reaching back before the turn of the Century.
|
One of the
things I want to do with this area is to bring some of the architecture
together to make themed areas. Yes, much like Walt Disney might do.
There is some beautiful architecture here from all eras, and it would be
easier to look at if it was all together and you didn't have to drive
around like I do to see it.
